POSITION TITLE: DEVELOPMENT OFFICER (X2)
REPORTS TO: DEPUTY CEO
LOCATION: DUBLIN-WICKLOW-KILDARE
Mental Health Ireland (MHI) is a national voluntary organisation with
a dynamic team and a network of Mental Health Associations (MHAs)
active throughout the country. MHI aims to promote positive mental
health, wellbeing & recovery using a process called coproduction to
ensure that the voices of the end user are heard at all stages of
programme development.
POSITION SUMMARY
Working as part of the national team of Development Officers, the
Development Officer for this position will work a five day week in the
Dublin, Kildare & Wicklow area. The essential role of the Development
Officer is to deliver on the core objectives of Mental Health
Ireland?s Strategy. This will include supporting the establishment,
operation and development of the network of local MHAs, in CHO 6, 7 &
9, the coproduction and delivery of Mental Health Promotion projects,
Recovery education / Initiatives and training for volunteers.
The Development Officer will represent MHI in Dublin, Kildare &
Wicklow in collaboration with the HSE and other related stakeholders
in the community both statutory and voluntary with the objective of
working to improve the mental health and wellbeing of the population.
The Development Officer will report to the Deputy CEO and work closely
with both the national office team and the Development Officer team to
coproduce projects, campaigns and communication and to share expertise
and unique local initiatives. The role demands flexible working hours
which will necessitate some attendance at out of hours meetings/events
related to the duties of a Development Officer.
THE PERSON
We are looking for a person who is looking for challenging role in
which to develop and utilize their wide range of skills working with a
successful organisation to deliver and develop Mental Health
Ireland?s Strategic Plan in the community.
You will be working to bring about real change and introduce new
support networks to both the public and service users across a wide
range of platforms. You will also be involved in supporting the
delivery and management of MHI?s training programmes which are a
blend of in person and online presentations and engagements.
You will develop and maintain relationships with a wide range of both
online and community groups, statutory bodies and other NGO across
many sectors. Your skills will be maximized to deliver on the plans
that MHI has to establish, develop and support services in the Dublin,
Wicklow and Kildare area.
